Multiple Teams · Girl’s Basketball 11/30 Recap vs Washington

Frosh recap:

On Friday night the girls faced Washington. The girls faced their first man to man pressure and it was a great learning experience for everyone. Savannah and Kaleah pulled down some great rebounds for us and were able to get some great scoring opportunities. Melanie once again gave great energy on defense motivating her team. Leading scorer of the night was Savannah with 7 points.
JV recap:

DE JV Girls Basketball prevails in the end over Washington with a 32-30 victory, after making free its throws down the stretch to ultimately put the game away. It was a slow start for both teams to open the game. DE JV had difficulties getting into its offense while Washington missed on a handful of open looks in the paint & from deep. Nya Dey’s work on both ends was the difference in the end, as she grabbed five rebounds to go along with a block shot, and a timely bucket to tie the game up with only seconds left to play in the game.
Being short handed and facing its first test of adversity, the DE JV Girls found a way to get it done when it counted the most, as Anysia Gallegos & Aysa Wills both made pressure cooker free-throws late in the fourth quarter.
Varsity recap:
After a slow start, the varsity delivered a strong defensive performance and defeated Washington 55-13.
