Varsity Recap: Coach Lovely
The Scorpions were in a battle last night, the 5A Camelback Spartans showed up with a 6 – 4 record.  From the tip you could tell it was going to be intense, the first qtr ended with your Scorpions up 15 – 14, and at the half the Scorpions led 32 – 30.  Both teams came out the 2nd half battling and the 3rd qtr was a back and forth affair as the qtr ended knotted up at 45.  The intensity in the gym grew as the 4th qtr proceeded and with 4 mins left to go the game was anyones game.  Inside 2 mins the Scorpions took the lead for good.  After a Scorpions time out with 1.22 left in the game the free throw contest determined the winner.  We made 14 of 18 4th quarter FT’s to seal the deal for the win 69 – 64.
Senior guard Jonathan Soto led the Scorpions scoring with a key 3 pt bucket to provide a cushion and finished with 19 pts hitting 7/8 ft down the stretch.  Jarren Neal (Sr), Jake Clapper (So) added 10 points each, and Austin Boggs scored 9.
The Scorpions are now 8 – 2.
JV Recap: Coach Johnson

The JV team took on the incoming Camelback Spartans.   The game was back and forth the entire night. With the scorpions clinging to a narrow lead for most of the game.  The team was able to right the ship in the fourth quarter, taking a double digit lead. The final score was 71-57 Scorpions.  The teams was led in scoring again by D’mari Johnson with 25 points also Anthoni Neuman chipped in a season high 15 points.

This brings the JV record  to 5-1 on the year.

Freshman Recap: Coach Day
Camelback came into The Den and the Desert Edge freshman responded forcing 29 turnovers and led by timely scores from Amahni Hunter, Malik Lanfair, and Matt Willis. Leading to a 54-38 victory. Willis ends up with 17 pts and 12 rebounds. Lanfair with 4 3s and Hunter with 6 assists.
Freshman are now 6 – 0 on the season.
Next up is road game to Combs on Friday.
