Multiple Teams · Football Season 2020 Recap

With a season of a lot of uncertainty, our Football Program made one thing certain, we have one of the best football programs in the state. The program in total compiled a record of 18-5. Frosh 4-3, JV 6-1, Varsity 8-1 (8-0 regular season).
As if navigating through a pandemic wasn’t enough, getting a new coaching staff, and new influx of players, the season could’ve went one of 2 ways. We are thankful that our players and coaches worked tirelessly to make this season one to remember.
This season the Seniors who’ve fought so hard for 4 years wanted to use this last season to leave a legacy… and they did just that. This team was the 3rd team in the school’s history to go undefeated as well as being the first to reach the AIA’s Open Division Playoffs. Also the first team in Agua Fria School District’s history to make The Open 8.
Going undefeated in a regular season is hard enough as it, doing through a pandemic is nothing short of amazing. Finishing the season unblemished and becoming one of best teams in 5A after being moved up previously from 4A shows the trajectory of our football program. We’re trending UP!
Finishing with the regular season #1 Offense and Defense in 5A (top 3 in the state) as well as the number 1 QB and RB, #1, #4, and #10 WRs in 5A, The Scorpions this season were a force to be reckoned with.
We want to send a special shout out to out fabulous Desert Edge Booster Club for all the wonderful things they’ve done for the boys throughout their careers and helping make the transition as smooth as possible.
Lastly, we want to thank all of the families and friends who’ve supported us all season. You have no idea how much your support helps our boys and gives us that extra fire we needed all year long.
The future is BRIGHT!
