Varsity Game Recap: 82 – 54
The Scorpions played host to Buckeye High School last night in non-region competition.  The first quarter the team smothered Buckeye defensively, and struck often with their fast break putting up 20 in the first quarter and 18 in the 2nd.  At halftime we led 38 – 24.  The Scorpions are proving to be a strong 2nd half team as they put up 44 points in the half to Buckeye’s 30 points.  The final score was 82 – 54 moving the Scorpions to 7 – 1 for the season.
Your Scorpions had 5 players in double figures with Shay Cain continuing to display his dominance in last night’s game putting up 12 points, 11 rebounds and recording 9 assists.  Amarei Hunter was a beast as added 19 points, 11 rebounds all while defensively shutting down Buckeye’s prolific scorer, holding him to only 15 points.  Jake Clapper pitched in 14 points and 8 rebounds while Amanhi Hunter-Williams and Damaryea Cox added 11 points.

Freshman Game Recap: 55 – 43
Your freshman boys basketball team got back to its winning ways by knocking off Buckeye High School last night.  The team was led by KJ Edwards and his aggressive defense while also scoring 20 points. Jacob Orman chipped in 12 while Kaleel Johns added 11 and Branden Trujillo added 8 points.  Jaden Spiwack had a crucial basket and 1 with the game tied in the final minutes.  Once we took the lead, we did not relinquish it pushing it to a double digit victory, 55-43.
Monday night the Scorpions face Bradshaw Mountain at home and Tuesday we travel to Estrella Foothills.  Follow your Scorpions on the NFHS Network.
