Varsity Basketball Game Recap: 90 – 57
The Boy’s Basketball program was on the road on Friday to Mohave High School after a 3 hours bus trip the Varsity team was ready to get back to action.  The Scorpions struck quickly in this game as they came out aggressive and put 26 points on the scoreboard holding Mohave to only 9 points in the first quarter.  The team finished the first half with a 57 – 30 lead.  The second half was more of the same as the Scorpions put up 90 points for the game, four players scored in double figures with Shay Cain leading the pack with 20 points and 7 rebounds, both Damaryea Cox and Jake Clapper added 19 points, 9 rebounds each and Amarei Hunter finished with 18 points.  The Scorpions moved to 9 – 2 overall and 6 – 1 in Region on the season.
Amarei Hunter and Damaryea Cox received the DE “Hard Hat” Players of the game.

JV Basketball Recap: 53 – 40 

Friday Night your JV scorpions travel to Mojave short-handed but with help from Dominick Tarrant led all scorers with 18 and Amanhi Hunter chipped in 9 points..We were down 27-20 going into half time.  The 2nd half we went on a scoring spree which was led by Dominick Tarrant and we ended the 3rd period 39-31.  Going into the 4th was a team effort and Amir Hunter scored the last 8 points to seal the win 53 – 40.

Freshman Basketball Recap: 
Your freshman boys basketball team took the long trip to Mohave High School in Bullhead City. It was a tight contest throughout the first half. Our press finally wore them down toward the end of the first half and we took a 5 point lead into the lockers. The second half started much like the first.  At the end of the third quarter, we held a 7 point margin.  Mohave battled back to tie it in the fourth quarter but DE prevailed at the end walking away with a 6 point victory.  KJ Edwards led the scoring with 13 points.  Kaleel Johns added 11 and Jacob orman also added 11 points while Branden Trujillo and Jaden Spiwack had 9 and 7 points respectively.

This week the games are on Wednesday at Paradise Honors and Friday at home Against Deer Valley.
