Desert Edge (9-4 overall, 6-0 section) secured a spot in the Division II girls’ team tennis playoffs for the first time in school history. he Lady Scorpions walked away with a close 5-4 win over #19 Paradise Valley. Racquel Muninga, Brionnah Henry, Andrea Chavez both secured singles and doubles wins with Maria Rodriguez getting the doubles nod. Desert Edge improves to 3-4 and begins sectional play with back-to-back-to-back matches beginning on Tuesday at Catcus HS.

Girls Tennis Update

The Lady Scorpions stung visiting North Canyon by a score of 7-2 which featured Rattler tennis star and University of Maryland signee Sarah Adewumi. Desert Edge’s Imani Steward earned the golden bagel, winning her contest 6-0, 6-0, and Brionnah Henry continued her singles success going 5-1 on the year. Next up is Paradise Valley on

DEHS lost another close heartbreaker to Coconino HS by a score of 5-4. Brionnah Henry, Imani Steward & Maria Rodriguez all secured singles wins and the team of Brionnah Henry & Racquel Muninga took a point in the doubles stanza. DEHS is home again tomorrow against Estrella Foothills HS at 330pm.
